Email Account Retention/Deletions
Can I keep my FSU e-mail account (JES e-mail) when I graduate from FSU or am no longer an employee?
- Students: E-mail accounts are not retained after you graduate. You will need to set up e-mail forwarding in your webmail account. That way, if anyone sends you an e-mail to your FSU e-mail it will forward for life. You can keep your account for at least 6 months after you leave FSU (you are no longer a student and not an FSU Retiree). You will receive an e-mail approximately two weeks before your account is to be deleted, to let you know of this fact. Here is a sample letter and here are instructions for forwarding your email.
- Employees: You may keep your account for at least 6 months after you leave FSU (you are no longer an employee and not an FSU Retiree). If you have been gone for 6-9 months and have not accessed your account for 30 days, your account will be deleted. You will receive an e-mail approximately two weeks before your account is to be deleted, to let you know of this fact. Here is a sample letter and here are instructions for forwarding your email.

Email Forwarding
If you have another e-mail account that you check on
a regular basis, you may find it easier to forward your FSU email account to your existing personal account. This will allow you to login to your primary
account and check both e-mail inboxes. If your professor
utilizes a class mailing list, you will need to be mindful
that some e-mail systems treat class mailing list messages
as ‘bulk’
or ‘junk’ mail, and may not be viewable in
your Inbox..
If you want to save your e-mail inbox folder before your account is deleted, read this.

Email Privacy
If you do not want your e-mail published in the FSU Student e-mail directory, log in with your FSUID and password to campus.fsu.edu, select FSUID, or choose FSUID Identity Management. Here are some instructions: Change Listing.
