University Computing Services (UCS) announces a new facility for hosting personal webpages of FSU affiliates (including faculty, students and staff.) This facility will replace the previous public_html directory usage for garnet and mailer account holders. As a result, UCS will no longer be accepting requests for new shell accounts.
Users who have an existing site on garnet (or mailer) are encouraged to move to "myweb.fsu.edu".
What is WebDAV?
WebDAV stands for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning".
For folks who maintain websites at FSU, it is simply a method for accessing
the web server.

a "myWebDAV"
website:
wORKING WITH WebDAV:
If you currently have a website (a public_html directory) on mailer or garnet, your myweb.fsu.edu has been created. To check, enter myweb.fsu.edu/YOURFSUID in a browser window.

If you get a "NOT Found", you need to submit a ticket to request a myweb account.

- The new facility (webDAV) eliminates the need to use SFTP to upload files.
- Users will access their myweb space through a client connection instead using their FSUID and password
- This should make website development easier than ever.
To learn more about myweb.fsu.edu, please see information provided at http://ucs.fsu.edu/docs/mywebdav.html
